Not that I'm trying to defend WeTransfer, but I consider myself to be very strict when it comes to security and I don't really have a problem with it either. It'll be interesting to see what their concerns are. WeTransfer does that as well, you don't need to use its email functionality (Requires WeTransfer Plus though). Again, this is an issue that all these services have, unless they don't send out mails automatically and only give you a link that you must share manually. It can't because if it did the mail would get blocked by pretty much everywhere (unless you have no SPF record set). Even without it though WeTransfer doesn't spoof your address. Esentially any file type (up to 5GB in size) can be sent using PlusTransfer, the file-transferring service. WeTransfer does support email verification. PlusTransfer is the site to upload files for sharing and the method of choice when sending large files through email.Read More PlusTransfer supports all file types, from MP3, DIVX, MKV, multimedia files to CAD, PPT. When you pay, though, you have to pay for the entire first year: 120. The upgrade isn’t free it’ll cost you 10 per month. But if you need to send extra-large files or need to secure your transfers with a password, then you may want to invest in WeTransfer Plus. You also can't really prohibit someone sharing the mail with the link (although that could be somewhat controlled with the link automatically expiring after it has been clicked once but that can be quite annoying for the original recipient).Īnd I’m guessing the ability to spoof the senders email address probably doesn’t help. The free WeTransfer is fine for sending most files. Once the file has been downloaded you can't control what happens with it. ![]() I don't see how any other download service would solve this. I think the concern is that we would be liable if someone downloaded the link and somehow published the content in a territory we had no rights in ![]()
